Zoutelande Hotels

Zoutelande is one of the few beaches in the Netherlands that face south. As a result, this popular tourist destination can cater for every type of vacationer and suit whatever their needs may be. The project consists of dams, sluice gates, bridges, canals and tunnels, the extent of which had never been undertaken in one project before. The project is currently being upgraded as the risks of global warming have been assessed.

The village of Zoutelande is part of a stretch of coast on the province of Zeeland. Getting there is a fairly simple proposition and it is even possible to drive there from England using the Channel Tunnel train service. While Zeeland has an airport, the best option may be to fly into Rotterdam or Brussels and to catch a chartered flight or train from there. The public transport systems are of a very high standard and getting around is no problem at all. You can also hire a car and many of the Zoutelande hotels offer free parking.

There are some unique attractions to the area that include the Reptile Zoo in Vlissingen, the Deltapark Neeltje Jans, which is a water park with slides and displays to keep the younger generation busy, skydiving and indoor karting for the more restless and a tour of the Delta Project itself where you can find out more about this incredible undertaking. If, however, you just want to relax and enjoy the sunshine and local beers then you can spend a day in the restaurants overlooking the canals or even take a cruise on the canal. The local seafood is of a very high standard and one of the favorites is the mussels. This forms a part of several other festivals in the summertime time when you can eat mussels, French fries and beer until you drop.
